World Health Day
Every year, World Health Day is celebrated on the 7th of April to mark the anniversary of the founding of the WHO in 1948. Each year a theme is selected for the World Health Day which highlights a priority area of concern for the WHO.
This year the theme was ‘Ageing and Health’ and it concerned the health issues faced by the elderly. In keeping with the theme, KJO chose to celebrate the day by conducting an event which would give free medical checkups to all the people of the Khafji area. Miraj devised an event theme that graphically focused on the elderly. Although the main target audience was the elderly, but youngsters and employees of KJO including their families were encouraged to participate. Miraj proposed a theme wall that contained large posters with important health and hygiene messages and as a model of an apple was prominently placed to allow people to interact and record their thoughts on health and hygiene.
